Mar Azul

Standard: All levels

Mar Azul

This very scenic dive begins with an "A" frame swim-through between two giant rocks. Various rock formations are home to a diversity of marine life including octopus, lady scarlet shrimps and some beautiful anemones. Another swim through at around 30m gives an opportunity to see stingrays. From there we slowly ascend to 6m where we can enter a cavern with a blow-hole giving an opportunity to break the surface followed by several more caverns to explore. We recommend a torch for this dive.

Playa Paraiso

Playa Paraiso

A favourite with many of our divers with lots of fish! Bream, wrasse, Eagle and Common rays as well as an enormous yet very friendly Atlantic ray. Damsels, octopus, trumpet fish and cuttlefish can also be seen. There´s a swim through at 19m and interesting rock formations plus a large anchor with a seabed of both sand and rocks.

El Puertito

El Puertito

A must dive! As part of a project over 24 months and in conjunction with La Laguna University a local dive centre has been clearing the area of spiny sea urchins in an effort to rejuvenate growth of algae. This has attracted many small fish to the area including Damsels, Bream and Parrotfish. Octopus and morays can also be found hidden between the rocks but the stars of the show are two resident turtles, a bull ray and two butterfly rays. We can search for Seahorses in the grass but whatever we find this is a stunning and very relaxing dive suitable for all levels of diver.

La Caleta Reef

La Caleta Reef

Starting from a reef plateau in 5m, interesting rock formations lead to the point at 18m. Lots of reef fish, a sky blue anemone and a big school of Ronacadores. Followed by ledges with a chance to spot Eagle and Atlantic Rays. We sometimes see Rock lobsters, an endangered species and lots of invertebrates. Often with strong currents this can make an excellent drift dive.

Las Vistas

Standard: All levels. Ideal for beginners and training

Las Vistas

A house reef on our local beach with an easy walk in entry, used for training, check dives & Discover Scuba. A variety of life including barracuda and scorpion fish inhabits both the reef and breakwater which also makes this site great for night dives. It’s not uncommon to spot baby Angel Shark here too.

Palm Mar Wall

Palm Mar Wall

For this dive we will either anchor on a reef in 6m or drop in without anchor for a chance to explore further on a one-way drift. We make our way down to around 20m to find two balls of fish; Roncadores and Bream. As we gain a little more depth it is likely we encounter Angel Shark or Rays. Located right next to some fish farms there is always a chance of dolphin spotting too!

Palm Mar Cave

One of the South´s most famous dives. A reef wall housing a variety of Moray eels including fangtooth and brown leads us to a cave at 28m with schools of shrimp and possibility of rays inside. We will also encounter ornate wrasse, parrot fish, trumpet fish. A memorial to two lost divers lays outside the cave entrance as well as a large statue of the Virgin del Carmen, protector of local fishermen.

Palm Mar Roncadores

Palm Mar Roncadores

A very popular dive, as we descend onto the reef plateau in 7m we head down the horseshoe shaped reef to find a huge shoal of Roncadores, often accompanied by barracuda circling menacingly above. The dive leads you close to the fish farms to find a ball of Boga which can attract dolphin. In the various overhangs and a cave we find Grouper and rays and a variety of other local fauna. Very fishy and scenic dive.

El Meridian

El Meridian

The Meridian is an old excursion "pirate " ship, about 18m long and deliberately sunk in late 2005 to provide some entertainment for underwater explorers. Starting in 22m between the wreck and a reef we encounter spotted Grouper playing among the 3 masts. From a depth of 30m we can explore the wreck as we ascend up to the Crow"s Nest. On the nearby reef in 24m we find shoals of bream and, during the winter, Angel Shark.

Barranco del Agua

Standard: Advanced and above
Depth: Boat: 10m to 40m | Distance: Boat: 10 minutes


Barranco del Agua

Starting in 10m, following a valley (barranco) leads us to dramatic rock formations including black coral in 22m. Good chance to see cuttlefish, octopus, morays and some fantastic grouper. At 30m we find another plateau in the shape of a horse shoe which drops to 45m. Lots of black coral and good chance for big Atlantic rays. Often with strong current this makes for great drift dives, an SMB is essential.

El Condesito

Depth: Boat: 6m to 35m | Distance: Boat: 12 minutes


El Condesito

A 40-metre cement carrier which ran aground on Christmas day around 30 years ago. She now rests on an even keel with the bow section torn away next to the remains of the cargo. A variety of fauna inhabits this artificial reef including trumpet fish, glass eyes, scorpion fish and lizard fish. Also a good chance to see octopus, barracuda and rays in the sandy bottom on either side of the bay. This is a great dive for beginners and photographers alike. With a drop further out to sea we can also first explore some Black Coral at 35m.

Neptunes´ Cave

Neptunes Cave

One of the best views you can have from inside a cavern, it"s just heaven, with lots of big eyes, trumpet fish, often rays and moray eels plus a large puffer fish. This dive is either from our anchored boat or a drift, dependent on the current. Great opportunity to spot Angel Shark during the Winter season and plenty of interesting rock formations to explore.

Roncadores del Faro

Depth: Boat: 7m to 35m | Distance: Boat: 20 minutes


Roncadores del Faro

We start the dive with a fun swim through which leads us to a huge ball of Roncadores. After this great photo opportunity we either head further down the canyon to a ledge with some fascinating black coral in around 35m or just keep a little higher to enjoy another swim-through and return along the reef wall. Look down from 10m to admire the fantastic rock formations. An easy descent and some lovely marine life.

El Acuario

El Acuario

A 30 minute boat ride away just outside Las Galletas harbour lies a small wreck in around 20m with lots of rays which have been fed by local dive centres for many years resulting in some very friendly behaviour from Atlantic, round and common rays. Also to be found are moray eels, jacks and Atlantic damsels.

Montaña Amarilla

Depth: Shore: 2 to 15m | Distance: Shore: 20 minutes


Montaña Amarilla

Some beautiful rock formations with swim-throughs and opinnacles breaking the surface make this one of the most scenic dives with plenty of opportunity to scour the rocky bottom and overhangs of lava flows to find some of the more timid wildlife lurking in the shadows. Very Pretty!

Black Cove

Black Cove

A fun giant stride entry into a rock pool leads to a swim through out into the ocean where there is an abundance of octopus and garden eels. Also to be found on this dive are cuttlefish, Roncadores and the possibility of sea-horse, stingrays and Angel shark. A very gentle and relaxing dive. Lots to explore and rarely disappoints.

La Jaca

La Jaca

A snake shaped, volcanic reef with tucked in ledges of sand hides Angel Shark and Rays including an Electric Ray. Bordering the reef is white sand, home to hundreds of garden eels. A pleasant easy dive with thousands of damsel fish! Sea hares are also often seen.

El Poris

Depth: Shore: 1 to 20m | Distance: Shore: 30 minutes


El Poris

A shallow, lazy dive with lots of soft coral and dramatic volcanic rock formations. Plant life surrounded by colonies of Damsels and Ornate Wrasse. A good chance of spotting octopus and cuttlefish and on occasion we can see a turtle playing on the side of the reef.

Las Eras

Depth: Shore: 1 to 30m | Distance: Shore: 35 minutes


Las Eras

From the walk in shore entry we head out along a lava ledge with lots of colourful soft coral. Barracuda and bream are just some of the abundant life on this dive with plenty to explore. A hugely popular dive with lots of just about everything to see.
